Huddersfield Goes Quackers over Holmfirth Duck Race

Over 10,000 ducklings picked for this year’s Duck Race are going through the paces to be the first across the line for the £1000 cash prize.

Chairman of Huddersfield Pendragon Round Table, Alec Jackson says “They’ve all been working so hard again this year, bless. We’ve found from experience that the ones that paddle in groups work best. So anybody out there looking to buy tickets for the Duck Race should be thinking about getting them in multiples of 5 to increase their odds.”
Tickets are sold by Tabler’s at the Co-op in Holmfirth, Morrisons in Meltham, at local schools by PTA’s and through various groups and organisations throughout the Holme
Valley as well as on the day of the race.
This year there will be a brand new event for area junior school children to win a Nintendo 3DS. Children will be asked to design the logo for the 2012 Duck Race. Judging will be on race day at the Sands by Local MP, Jason McCartney.

Over the past 28 Years for the Duck Race Pendragon Round Table has raised a cumulative £270,000, with all proceeds going to local good causes including the annual Christmas Wish with the Huddersfield Examiner.
