Upmarket Sundays

Shop on Sundays

Every month on the Second Sunday, Huddersfield is hosting a Sunday shopping event in the town centre.
Lots of town centre shops are open as well as Queensgate Market.
It's Upmarket Sundays and the Alternative Youth Market on New Street, plus FREE parking all day in the multi-storey Market Hall car park.

Go Upmarket on Sundays in Huddersfield

Sundays are upmarket in Huddersfield, with a weekly event at New Street (outside Primark), attracting over 80 stalls and 4000 visitors.

Browse antiques, collectibles, and arts and crafts, try contemporary and vintage fashions for size; then sample Yorkshire food and drink and treat yourself to some delicious street food. With live music and quirky street entertainment, Upmarket Sundays in Huddersfield are the perfect way to round off a relaxing weekend.

In addition to the unique range of shopping available there is entertainment and activities for all the family to enjoy. Children can decorate their own plant pots and sew these with seeds which will grow into peas and tomatoes at home.

The market is open at 10.00am and close at 4.00pm on each Sunday.

Cllr Peter McBride said 'a giant Sunday market with a huge range of goods on sale will give the town centre a real boost. A market offers something very different to out of town shops and the Internet, this new market will be somewhere to spend a few hours enjoying browsing and bargain hunting.'

More Stallholders are joining us each month, including:

Painted Elegance, based in Huddersfield, which customises and renovates classic furniture; the Old Bridge Bakery from Holmfirth, serving up handmade breads and cakes; Out of Africa, selling ethically sourced giftware from Africa; Tea Pot Tea Gifts, who specialise in loose leaf teas and herbal tea infusions, mugs, tea pockets and tea measure spoons; Joker 666, selling a range of tattoo accessories and body piercing jewellery; and the Vintage Cakery, who sell afternoon tea boxes and tea breads.
