The bus station is the busiest in West Yorkshire and serves as a hub linking the main towns and villages in the area.

The free town bus runs every ten minutes daily from 7.25am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays from 8.25am to 5.50pm.

The train station connects the town to Leeds, Dewsbury, Manchester and Sheffield with smaller local stations in the outlying areas of Huddersfield.

The town centre offers a range of parking options including pay on foot and pay by phone and there are over 4550 town centre space from on street to multi-storey car parks. Several taxi ranks are located through the town centre.
