In
1919 a young photographer called Willie Naylor decided to
set up his own company in Huddersfield. Having completed his
training in Halifax he entered an agreement with his former
employer and brought the company name with him - Greaves
Photographers.
Studio-based portrait and wedding photography provided
virtually all the work at the time, though the introduction
of smaller and more portable cameras slowly enabled wedding
photography in particular to move outdoors.
